Chapter 10

This chapter was entitled "Love and Loss" and was about some cases that Patricia runs into involve good owners whom have to re home their dogs even if they don't want to. It mentioned that some animals can develop depression amungst other personality disorders that humans also go through that some people never would have guessed dogs or other animals could develop. In some cases also the dog has to be put down and that is usually a tramatic event for all whom are involved. As this book comes to a conclusion Patricias dog, "Misty" died and also she talked about "Drift" whom had earlier died and how having the deceased animal returned to the house was therapeutic for the other dogs in the house and she suggests this to other people who have multiple dogs as it helps them cope with the death of a friend.

Chapter 9

This chapter was entitled "Personalities" and was about the fact that each dog is diffrent from another. It talked about dogs all behave differently and sometimes people think of this as the fact that their dog has its own personality but some people you talk to would tell you that each bread has a different way of acting and they are all the same within that bread, however this isn't true because for example most golden retrieves don't bite but that doesn't mean you wont accidentally run into one that is having a bad day and chops down on you hand. All dogs are different, like humans in tons of ways and yet have some similarities.

Chapter 8

This chapter was entitled "Patient Dogs and Wise Humans" and was about a lot of different ideas such as humans and dogs alike have expectations. When our expectations such as getting pop from a vending machine are not met, we get angry or frustrated at the machine for not fulfilling our requirements. Dogs are the same way with for example you offer them a treat for going in their crate and then you don't give it to them. this might cause the dog to want to bark more because it is not frustrated with you for not fulfilling its requirements and keeping the treat to yourself. It also mentioned how your not supposed to let your dog or dogs run inside after a walk or coming home from the vet, etc. because it would be the same rudeness factor as if you had 4 kids and they trampled you to get inside and unless there is a terrorist on the loose this isn't socially except-able. The remedy for this behavior is to have the dog wait at the door and enter the room, any room after the owner.

Chapter 7

This chapter was entitled " The Truth About Dominance." It was about the fact that a lot of people's view on training dogs is conceded. They think that dominance is key to getting a dog to do something you want them to. This is not the right answer and can lead to some pretty terrible results. Dogs get afraid when humans treat them terribly. The way to properly train a dog is to reward for the good and ignore the bad, that way the dog doesn't get any attention at all for disobeying and gets praised when good things happen.

Chapter 6

This chapter was entitled " packmates." It was about Dogs and their maturity and reaction to humans and dogs through several things, one of the main concepts of this was dogs when they are young. humans often buy puppies cause they are cute not because they want a dog. doing this can be very harmful to both the owner or owners and the dog itself. If you end up abandoning the dog that is considered cruel and you wouldn't want to do that, but if you keep it it adds stress to your life you weren't ready for. Either way both you and the dog loose, the lesson being don't buy a dog till your 100% sure you want one and are ready for one.

Chapter 5

This chapter was entitled " fun and play." it was about a few things, one of them is the fact that dogs and humans are strange mammals because other mammals play alot when they are young and gradualy become sedate. this is not the case with humans and dogs. some other species such as river otters also love to play a lot. species such as monkeys and goats get calmer when they mature and don't play like we do. This chapter also mentioned that dogs love to play with balls, not necessarily all of them but most of them do. There were also some pictures in this section explanation how humans, apes and dogs differ, such as apes kiss their loved ones, as we do however dogs don't and they don't like kisses from humans either. Also dogs dont like getting hugs however apes and humans love them.

reading log ch2

Chapter 2-Translating primate to canine

This book is very repetitive and includes some main ideas that are repeated over and over again in different words. Those main ideas are something like this; Dogs see our silhouettes and a hat or a back pack or bike make us look like aliens. When teaching your dog to come it is best to run away from it while calling it so that it thinks your playing chase with it. This helps because dogs like playing and are more likely to listen to you if it  will be involving a pleasant experience, more so than an unpleasant one. Body blocking is another big thing, if your dog is doing something you don't want your are supposed to get up in it's face and take the space around it, stopping it from be able to do much. If your look away from your dog it's telling it to not do something, just like humans when we look away from someone it makes them feel weird.

Chapter 3-Talking to each other

This book is very repetitive and includes some main ideas that are repeated over and over again in different words. Those main ideas are something like this; Dogs don't understand what we say, even commands are gibberish to them. They respond to the sounds we make and the actions we do when we say them.  Repeating commands is a bad thing, it's like when to ask someone to do something and they are getting their last head shot of the match or watching the last touchdown of the game. Unless your bleeding out, most likely they are going to finish that quick thing before doing what was asked of them. Dogs are the same way but with things like, sniffing or eating a treat or something like that, so repeating a command just confuses them. Making your voice louder and saying quiet don't do anything at all to a dog. All you would be doing is joining in on the barking and making things worse. To have the best results of getting your dog to do something your supposed to use a calm and higher voice than usual to make the dog feel comfortable with listening to you.

Chapter 4- Planet Smell

This book is very repetitive and includes some main ideas that are repeated over and over again in different words. Those main ideas are something like this; Dogs use smell to communicate, not barking because all dogs have a different scent. Dogs are known for their remarkable smell, but it is a little known fact that human smell is very important to humans as well. Unconsciously or not, studies prove that humans are able to tell whether a shirt has been worn by a man or woman.

Chores

Today i did KP, garbage, recycling and poo patrol

Projects

Today I helped dad switch the headlights out of the car so that they didn't have the paint chippings on them. So we took out the old ones and put in new ones, to find out they were a different kind and the 3 pronged female lights wouldn't work on the 2 pronged male lights. We dd some sodering and now they go up and turn on but not down (you have to open the hood and hand crank to get them to go down).

Projects

Today I went with dad and drove around town to try and get the wheels put on the car. we found out about chrome rash and that the tiers were balled so in the end we went to Les Schwab and got new tiers and had the wheels put on. It was a lot of driving and misinformation. Then I helped take the old seats out and put the new seats in the car.

day 1

Chores

I completed KP, Garbage, and Recycling.

Web Development

Today I learned how to design and create databases using MySql. This will help me to collect data from users on my website. the tool i used was PhPMyAdmin.

Reading

I read chapter 6 of "The Other End of the Leash" called "Pack mates" it was about human and dog interaction. after talking with dad i haven't been retaining the information from the book properly as I should. so my new plan is to read it one segment at a time so that i can comprehend the book better. dad and I discussed it and he made a suggestion that I start over at chapter one.

Projects

I started working on a game project. The idea is to create a game like a TCG / RPG / RTS mix and then hopefully to someday develop it to the point where my dad and I can pitch it to a game company or produce  it on our own. whom I am very excited about the project and look forward to having people play test it. I also had the idea of taking the song "We Didn't Start the Fire" and making a presentation slide about each event in the song, but I haven't started that just yet. I also experimented with Audacity and made a remix to the Nazi zombies CoD BO menu music. I also downloaded acid to see if it would be better and i dint use it at all.

I ended my day by attending Youth group. at youth group we learned about Abram and his land that he was promised that ended up being for his descendant not him.
